WORLD OLYMPIADS ASSOCIATION (WOA)
Awards
World Olympiads are international level examinations. To encourage the students to perform well in examinations, the following recognitions are awarded by World Olympiads Association. The award consists of citations and mementoes/trophies/medals/souvenirs.
World Star Award
“World Star Junior" and "World Star Senior" are awarded to the candidates having the best performance in the World Olympiads in the categories of “Standard I to IV” and “Standard V to VIII” respectively. To be eligible for the “World Star Award” the candidate should appear for at least three examinations out of WEO, WMO, WCO and WSO. The three highest-scoring subjects will be evaluated for the “World Star Award”.
World Gold Award
"World Gold" is awarded to the best performer for each subject from the respective standard.“World Gold” is awarded to the best performers selected from each participating school for each standard. To be eligible for the “World Gold” award, the overall score should not be less than 70%. This Olympiad award is applicable only for registered schools/institutions.
World Silver Award
“World Silver” is awarded to the second-best performer, selected from each participating school for each standard. To be eligible for the “World Silver” award, the candidate should score minimum 60%. This Olympiad award is applicable only for registered schools/institutions.
Medals for Individual Registration
'GOLD MEDAL' is awarded to all those candidates scoring highest in the subject for each standard.
'PERFORMANCE MEDAL' is awarded to all candidates scoring more than 70% aggregate in three subjects. If a candidate participates in more than three Olympiads, the score of the best three will be considered.
In addition to the above 'Regional Achievers Award' may be given to students from specific geographical locations for exceptional performance in a subject.
Note: In case of a tie between candidates for an award, the following factors will be considered as per priority
Priority 1: Score in the World Science Olympiad
Priority 2: Score in the World Mathematics Olympiad
Priority 3: Score in the World Cyber Olympiad
Priority 4: In case of the same score in all three above subjects, candidates having lesser age will be given preference.
“World Gold” and “World Silver” will be awarded if at least five students appear in the examination from the given standard of a school. All rights for awards are reserved with WOA and the decision of WOA will be final.
If a student is awarded a higher medal, s/he will not be eligible for lower medals. (e.g. World Star Awardee will not be eligible for Gold or silver medals).
